Amherst College invites applications for an open-rank, three-year visiting appointment that will begin on July 1, 2025.
We are particularly interested in candidates whose research and teaching is in one or more of the following areas: Jewish art, history, literature, or philosophy; contemporary themes in Jewish life; Israeli culture and politics; Holocaust studies; and/or the Jewish experience in the United States. We welcome applications from scholars trained in the arts, humanities, or social sciences. The appointment will be made in the appropriate department. Teaching responsibilities include two courses per semester, all of which will be taught within the assigned department and will focus on topics within the areas noted above, and supervision of senior honors projects. The position requires a Ph.D.
