The Spadoni College of Education and Social Sciences at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor of Sociology beginning in August, 2025. A Ph.D. in Sociology is required at the time of the appointment. The candidate should also have evidence of excellent teaching and scholarly productivity, experiential learning, and community/public engagement with regard to poverty/inequality/homelessness/criminology.
The Department offers the Bachelors of Arts degrees in Sociology, and Criminal Justice. We also support minors in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Social Justice, and Sociology. This highly collaborative and active department encourages unified classroom experiences and promotes experiential learning that highlights faculty areas of expertise and research.
Coastal Carolina University is a public comprehensive liberal arts institution located in Conway, South Carolina, just nine miles from the Atlantic coastal resort city of Myrtle Beach.
