Description:
The University of Notre Dame's Keough School of Global Affairs in conjunction with the Notre Dame Lucy Family Institute for Data and Society invites applicants for an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor position focused in the area of computational social science. The candidate should have expertise in methods such as machine learning, network analysis, system dynamics or big-data analytics and visualization, and have a research agenda focused on using these methods to understand the role of public policy in low- and middle-income countries. Duties include research, teaching and service.
The position will be based in the https://keough.nd.edu/, which promotes interdisciplinary and policy-relevant research on critical issues in global affairs, transformative educational programs, and partnerships for global engagement. The Keough School approaches global affairs and development through a focus on https://keough.nd.edu/integral-human-development/, which is also central to the University of Notre Dame's mission. The successful candidate will be appointed as an affiliated faculty member of https://lucyinstitute.nd.edu/, which seeks to advance data innovation to help transform society and individual lives.
Qualifications:
Competitive candidates for this position will have a scholarly track record with evidence of, or potential for, high-quality research as well as experience or interest in policy engagement. The ideal candidate will have completed, or nearly completed, a Ph.D. in business, computer science, economics, information science, public policy, political science, sociology, statistics, or a related field. ABD candidates will be considered for an entry level position.
