The Department of Health Sciences at Rutgers University-Camden Campus invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to start in Fall 2025.

Candidates should have research expertise in health sciences and have a PhD or comparable degree currently or by the start date. Applicants may have a disciplinary affiliation with public health, psychology, public policy, sociology, neurobiological science, health economics or other related fields.

Teaching responsibilities include courses in the undergraduate major Health Sciences and the graduate program in Prevention Science as well as classes focused on the candidate’s area of expertise. These include both topical courses at the undergraduate and graduate level (e.g., Introduction to Health Sciences, Introduction to Prevention Science), as well as graduate-level methodology and statistics courses in Prevention Science (e.g., Program Evaluation and Implementation Science). Candidates are also expected to mentor doctoral students in Prevention Science.

Rutgers-Camden is a diverse, research-intensive campus of 6,000 students located in Camden, New Jersey, directly across the Delaware River from Philadelphia. Our campus is classified as a “Doctoral University: High Research Activity” (R2) institution by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, and it emphasizes civic engagement. As a designated Minority Serving Institution, we particularly seek faculty who can connect with our diverse student population (over 50% racial/ethnic minorities and over 25% first-generation college students). The teaching load for research active faculty is 2-2, and salaries and benefits are competitive.
