Job Details

The Stanford Graduate School of Education seeks applicants for an early career (untenured) faculty position in education and organizations. We seek an empirical social-science researcher who studies organizations such as schools, colleges and universities, education businesses, education philanthropies, government and regulatory agencies, and the relationships among these and other organizations that constitute the ecosystem for education—in the United States and/or internationally. We welcome applications from scholars deploying a wide range of methods and data, including ethnographic, qualitative, comparative-historical, and quantitative/computational approaches.

The successful candidate will join a community of faculty who study educational phenomena from a variety of disciplinary perspectives, many of whom have interests in collaborating with colleagues across the university as well as with practitioners to understand and facilitate change. The successful candidate will also be expected to teach and advise students at the graduate level.

Ph.D./Ed.D., or enrollment in a Ph.D./Ed.D. program with anticipated degree conferral by the time of appointment is required.

Applicants are required to provide:

  • a brief cover letter
  • a research and teaching statement (no more than 3 pages)
  • curriculum vitae
  • up to three scholarly publications/writing samples
  • three names of references (complete with email addresses and phone numbers).  We will request letters immediately.

All application materials must be submitted online.  Please submit your application at the following site: https://facultypositions.stanford.edu/en-us/job/494735/assistant-rank-faculty-position-in-education-and-organizations

Application deadline is October 14th at 11:55pm PST.
